Here Jordan* writes, in his own words, about his experience accessing EveryYouth’s
Employability Fund:
I used to live at St Basils, and it has always been a dream of mine to learn about building and upgrading PC’s as I have built my own and I enjoy doing it.
At the time I was thinking about starting my career, my money was low and I didn’t come from a very well off background. I got in touch with this amazing woman called Vicky (a Support Worker at St Basil’s) who helped me find what I wanted to do.
In order to get into it and start my course, I applied for an EveryYouth Employability Bursary. When I got it, I just thought everything was going to start to go up for me and it made me feel happy and excited for my future. This IT course will help me get into the kindof jobs I would like to do in the future. I’m ready to have a different lifestyle.
The Bursary has helped me discover more about who I am and what I want to do. Without the help from Vicky, St Basil’s or EveryYouth, none of this would be possible so thank you I really appreciate it.
