EveryYouth is delighted to announce that Depaul UK will be joining its UK wide Network of youth homelessness charities.
EveryYouth is the national charity for young people experiencing homelessness. EveryYouth does charity differently by working collaboratively through its Network to harness the power of local knowledge to make national change.
Depaul UK has worked for more than 30 years to support young people facing homelessness. They specialise in providing supported accommodation and prevention services, including delivering workshops in schools. They also run a flagship national emergency service, Nightstop, which relies on trained and vetted volunteers from the community, to provide a safe bed, a hot meal and a listening ear for a young person who would otherwise face a night on the streets.
Depaul UK becomes the 11th youth homelessness charity to join EveryYouth, expanding its Network into London, Manchester and the North-East.
Nick Connolly, EveryYouth CEO, said: “We have long admired Depaul UK’s work to end youth homelessness, and are over the moon to welcome them to the EveryYouth Network. EveryYouth has an ambition to support young people who are experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, homelessness in every community in the UK. Working with Depaul UK is a significant step towards achieving this ambition and means more young people will benefit from the holistic support we champion.”
Kristina Hedderley-Perez, Director of Public Engagement, said: “Depaul UK are delighted to be a member of the EveryYouth group of charities working towards ending youth homelessness across the UK. Depaul UK works across England to ensure young people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless have the best chance at a brighter future. Working with EveryYouth and all the other member charities means we can support even more people at risk and implement lasting solutions.”
EveryYouth’s Network tackles youth homelessness through pragmatic and holistic interventions that support unhoused young people to combat poor mental health, help them gain qualifications and jobs, and ultimately, find long-term housing that young people can call home.
EveryYouth’s philosophy is to build on the good work already being done by the delivery organisations in its Network and amplify the impact any one charity can have for a single young person, by funding scalable solutions that can be replicated across the UK.
The addition of Depaul UK to the EveryYouth Network means that EveryYouth now has the largest reach of any youth homelessness organisation in the UK.
